Terrified of objectors?

Here's a secret.

terrified eyesThe AER treats all objectors with respect. But not all objections prevent a licence from being issued, nor do all objections require a public hearing.

If you didn't have AppIntel, how else would you find the wide range of objection responses? With AppIntel, you can simply type   SOCAR   into the KiP search box.

One operator received an objection regarding a proposed gas battery. But the AER chose to issue the licence anyway despite the objection and without a hearing.

You can see the regulator's review and treatment of the objection in a rare view of a SOCAR, an internal regulator process. See for yourself by getting the application documents from our self serve website.

Statement of Concern

Statement of Concern or SOC is a way that people can object to proposed facility applications.

The regulator AER reviews all SOC's carefully. Many are reviewed with an internal form tool called a SOCAR. The regulator rarely shares SOCAR forms. But you can see a SOCAR as one of the documents in the application referenced above.

Handling objector concerns

Reviewing the SOCAR of this application will give you some of your own ideas about handling objections.

It may also give you ideas about how to avoid some objections in the first place.
