Locating your facility in peatlands

cattailsToday we announce hit alerts, a new feature of AppIntel. You may want to add hit alerts to your tool box to find new applications.

What if you just can't locate your central processing facility with the required setbacks from water bodies? Maybe the area is continuous wetlands or peatlands.

You could have used AppIntel's hit alerts to have a similar application delivered to you automatically.

For example, one operator almost convinced the regulator to approve their new central processing facility in such a wet situation. They promised ten technical mitigations at the facility. They made 11 more commitments at the field pads. They went way beyond just installing emergency ESDs. But in the end, the regulator refused their application on a technicality.

You can see their plans and commitments by clicking on the button below labelled 'Get these application docs now.'

police lightWhat's a hit alert?

A hit alert automatically sends you new AER applications that have documents that match a search string.

Hit alerts use the same search technology as AppIntel's google-like nature language search.

After registering your hit alert, AppIntel search through all newly submitted documents for your search string. When we find applications that meet your criteria, you receive them in your email inbox.

Hit alert examples

For example, let's say you want to have applications sent to you that deal with reducing sulphur recovery at central processing facilities. There are several of these that have been approved recently. Just register a hit alert with

sulphur recovery reduction

Or, suppose you want to have all applications sent to you that deal with waste processing facilities that also process non-oilfield waste. Just register a hit alert with

non-oilfield waste facility

Lastly, maybe you want to have applications sent to you that have seismic in the Banff formation. Just register a hit alert with

Banff seismic

Different than other AppIntel alerts

Hit alerts are different than the AppIntel area alerts and application watches that you are already using.

An area alert sends you new applications of your chosen type in your chosen area.

A hit alert sends you new applications based on a KiP search string.

An application watch sends you notice of changes to applications that you are watching.

AlertExample
Area alertNew applications with type Comm Scheme: New within 50 miles of 75-5W4
Hit alertApplications with new documents that contain the words husky thermal bitumen
Application watchNew documents have been uploaded for application 1864512

Find out how long your application will take to be approved.
?subject=Sign me up for an AppIntel subscription&body=Sign me up for an AppIntel subscription so I can find out approval times for new thermal bitumen schemes.%0D%0A%0D%0AMy name _________%0D%0AMy phone number _________%0D%0APricing: https://www1.appintel.info/short-term-search/%0D%0A%0D%0A(Or, if your need is urgent, call AppIntel Sales at 403 803 2500)">Contact us about an AppIntel subscription.

Why use a hit alert rather than an area alert?

The nice thing about hit alerts is that they aren't limited to a particular application type.

For example, hit alerts will send thermal applications to you using the string   thermal bitumen   even if they are directive 051 or pilot applications.

What's the cost of a hit alert?

Subscribers get unlimited hit alerts as part of their subscription fee.

But non-subscribers can get hit alerts too.

What limitations do hit alerts have?

There are limitations to hit alerts. A subscriber only gets hit alerts for applications within her subscription scope.

For example, a subscriber with a WELL subscription gets hit alerts for well licence applications, but does not get hit alerts for pipeline applications. A ROIG subscriber will get hit alerts for D-51 and commercial scheme applications, but not for well licence applications.

Other KiP search strings to try

It costs non-subscribers very little for a hit alert. When you get into it, be sure to try these other KiP strings.

  • bitumen facility
  • CO2 injection
  • two year pipeline licence
  • immiscible gas injection
  • sulphur plant turndown
  • polymer Mannville
  • radio frequency heating
  • flexible sulphur emmissions

KiP is short for 'Knowledge is Power'

AppIntel's search box is called a KiP box. Knowledge is Power.

Sir Francis Bacon was the first person attributed to the phrase "Knowledge is Power' in his 1597 book Meditationes Sacrae and Human Philosophy.

In our age, finding knowledge about an industry as advanced as ours should be quick and easy. He who has the most intelligence wins.
