Lifehack: Look for corner shots next to pressured up floods

Drilling for initial production

net pay showing a corner shotMany operators are adding injectors to their floods. They know that improving water flood performance quickly adds production and reserves.

For example, we found an application for adding an injector to a very large (33 section) pool. The pool already has over 15 injectors.

And from their mapping, there appears to be at least 3 prospective undrilled quarters offsetting this flood. Some of the drilling opportunities appear to be offsetting injectors that may have pressured up the area. Initial production may be very impressive for any corner shot wells drilled.

Check out the mapping in their application in moments. You can buy the application documents by clicking the button below.

One explorationist commented, "Maybe we should start a new company that just focuses on corner shots based on application maps."

Don't give away the farm

Inspect your mapping before you submit it to the regulator. Make sure it doesn't give away juicy corner shot opportunities. Your geoglogical mapping is in the public domain the minute you submit. Always use any contour options available to map your pool onto your own land. Otherwise you may encourage someone to put another straw in your pool.

How to find them

Many application types require net pay maps. Commingling, GPP, GOR penalty relief, compulsory pooling, and enhanced recovery, and compulsory pooling applications are all good candidates to find mapping.

You can get new applications sent to you in your area of interest. Would you like to see every new application within 50 miles of your operation the day it was submitted? AppIntel can do that.
