Quench your thirst for knowledge about Net Carbon Zero
You've heard of sequestering CO2. Why not inject your acid gas?
One operator shut down their sulphur plant and the injected acid gas into an oil reservoir to maintain reservoir pressure.
They started over 10 years ago. In their original applications, you can see their discussion with the regulator on this novel approach. You can also see how they handled the corrosion aspects of the project. You can see their voidage replacement plans, PVT expectations and miscibility. And you can discern the cost savings of such an adventure.
In their more recent applications, you can see their progress and additional recovery. You can see their flood maintenance issues and ongoing compliance burden.

Where can you use this?
Injecting acid gas may be a great idea where the feed stock of a sulphur plant has dwindled below it's turn down ratio.
Or, your might inject acid gas in areas where there is little water to inject.

Thinking about how to use waste like acid gas to generate more oil revenue?
Textbooks and gee-whiz articles like this one may help you understand a bit about acid injection. But if you really want to understand how they perform in the field, you must read others' acid gas injection application documents.
In their applications, they report progress on acid gas floods to the regulator. Each application is ground truthed to actual UWIs. Each application is adjudicated by a picky regulator.

Sulphur on the ground
Storing sulphur on the ground is usually an alternative chosen when sulphur market prices don't allow economic sale of the mineral.
Of course, the sulphur commodity price needs to rise substantially before an operator can afford to melt the sulphur block and sell it.
Sulphur, sulfur, sulfer
What's the correct way to spell this yellow element's name?
The proper British spelling is sulphur. However, American usage is increasingly sulfur. Sulfer is the german spelling. Take your pick.
Of course, you could avoid the spelling problem altogether and call it brimstone (german for burning stone). Unfortunately few people would understand your references to a brimstone plant or a brimstone block.
